The FSA Credential - Linking Sustainability and Finance

May 21, 2020

Atlanta Capital proudly congratulates our Growth Equity portfolio managers Lance Garrison, Jeff Miller and Rob Walton for earning the Sustainable Accounting Standards Board (SASB) Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting (FSA) credential.

The Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting is an innovative program, which combines two exams to assess professional expertise in the materiality of sustainability information for corporate strategy and investment analysis.  The exam focuses on the impact of sustainability factors on financial performance, the legal context of material sustainability information, as well as the development of a common language to describe the materiality of sustainability information to finance, legal and accounting professionals.

The FSA program is designed to help investors understand the link between material sustainability information and a company’s financial performance and how to integrate ESG factors into investment decisions.  Our Growth Equity Team believes this link is an integral part of a disciplined, fundamental research approach.  The portfolio managers’ active participation in organizations such as SASB provides ongoing insights into current ESG factors but also to emerging issues material to corporations and investors.
